A Texas father whose son was killed in Afghanistan is reportedly disappointed by the condolence letter he received from President Obama.
Tom Logan, of Willis, told Click2Houston.com that the note was late, impersonal and disrespectful.
"It opened up a wound in our heart you can't fix,” he told the website. “You can't send another letter. You can't make it right.”
Logan's son, USMC Cpl. Joseph D. Logan, 22, was killed Jan. 19, 2012, along with five other men when their helicopter crashed in Afghanistan.
Logan said he believes Obama did little more than sign his name to the letter.
"He would have been more mad about this than I am," Logan said of his late son.
There’s no written policy pertaining to presidential condolence letters. White House officials did not return message seeking comment, the website reports.
