STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – Prosecutors in Ohio say the remaining charges related to the rape of a 16-year-old girl by two high school football players have been resolved with a guilty plea by a former school employee.
The Steubenville (STOO'-behn-vihl) school district's former technology director pleaded guilty Friday to obstructing official business. A judge sentenced William Rhinaman to 90 days in jail, with 80 days suspended if probation is completed.
Three other charges, including perjury, were dropped. Rhinaman's attorney declined to comment.
Rhinaman was one of six adults indicted by a grand jury looking into whether other crimes were broken in the rape of the West Virginia girl in August 2012. Charges against the other adults have been resolved.
Two Steubenville football players were convicted of raping the girl after an alcohol-fueled party.
