A former Disneyland worker has been sentenced to 36 days in jail after two water bottles containing dry ice exploded in the theme park.

The Orange County District Attorney's office says 23-year-old Christian Barnes was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to a court offer of one misdemeanor count of possession of a destructive device.

Barnes was also sentenced to three years informal probation, 100 hours of community service and ordered to stay away from Disneyland.

Prosecutors say Barnes placed dry ice in two water bottles that exploded in May at the California theme park when he was a Disneyland employee. No one was injured in the blasts.

A message left for Barnes' lawyer wasn't immediately returned.
