The brother of the man gunned down outside the Empire State Building is criticizing newspapers that ran `horrific' photos of his brother's body.

Paul Ercolino said newspapers "gave Osama bin Laden more respect" than they gave his brother Steven Ercolino after Friday's shooting.

Paul Ercolino spoke to Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton of WFAN sports radio on Monday.

Steven Ercolino was fatally shot by former co-worker Jeffrey Johnson. Johnson was then shot and killed by police.

Paul Ercolino said it was hard for his family to see newspaper photos on Saturday of his brother's body sprawled on the sidewalk with a trail of blood. He said readers should know that there's a grieving family behind those photos.

Ercolino also said his brother was a huge sports fan.
