Delta and AirTrain airlines are adding extra departures from Florida’s Key West International Airport for people wishing to leave the state ahead of Tropical Storm Isaac.

Monroe County Airports Director Peter Horton recommends travelers contact the airlines directly for availability and reservations. Horton said there was availability of a limited number of rental cars from both Key West and Florida Keys Marathon Airports.

All Keys county and state parks will close by late Saturday. Visitors who have near-term plans to travel to the Florida Keys must postpone their vacations until after the storm passes and following an infrastructure assessment.

Visitors are advised to leave the Florida Keys if they have the means to do so. Those who remain during the storm are directed to stay indoors until conditions improve.
