Worcester police say two people with business at the police department allegedly did a drug deal in the parking lot before they left.

The Telegram & Gazette reports police said a detective walking out of police headquarters Wednesday afternoon saw a car parked in a police parking lot.

Police said he recognized a man and woman at the car because they'd just been questioned about an unrelated matter.

The detective said he saw the man hand the woman something through the car window. The detective approached and asked why they were parked there, and said he saw the woman holding a small plastic bag containing white powder.

The 34-year-old Worcester man and 27-year-old North Grafton woman were charged with heroin possession. They were released on personal recognizance until a Dec. 20 court hearing.
