Felony charges against a New Hampshire man who fired a warning shot at an alleged robber have been dropped.

Dennis Fleming's attorney confirmed the news to MyFoxBoston.com.

Fleming reportedly returned to his home Saturday to find it had been broken into, and went to his neighbors' homes to warn them of the possible threat.

Fleming then saw the alleged suspect attempting to break into his neighbor's home through a window and fired a warning shot at the ground.

He held the alleged suspect at gunpoint until officers arrived. He then faced felony gun charges and could have been facing jail time.

Fleming told MyFoxBoston.com that he and his family have been hearing praise and support from people across the country.
