Bond is being kept at $1 million for an Ohioan charged with corpse abuse after a cable technician found his daughter's decomposed body in a crib.

Eric Warfel's lawyer sought a lower bond, arguing it was based on false information from police. He says Warfel never told police that trash in his home was meant to hide the smell or that he intended to flee.

Prosecutors in Medina (meh-DY'-nuh) County argued Warfel still deserves a high bond. The Medina County Gazette (http://bit.ly/1fmwxfa ) reports a judge agreed Monday, citing the seriousness of the case.

Warfel pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. He is expected to undergo a psychological evaluation.

A technician found 21-month-old Ember Warfel's body in late July. A medical examiner hasn't ruled on how or when she died.
