A U.S. Navy sailor accused of attempting to sell classified documents is facing a general court martial in Virginia.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Bryan Minkyu Martin of Mexico, N.Y., has been charged with four counts of attempted espionage and 11 counts of mishandling classified information. His two-day court martial begins Thursday. He has not entered a plea.

According to a warrant, Martin accepted $3,500 from an undercover FBI agent in exchange for documents that were classified as secret or top secret.

Martin is an intelligence specialist who was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina at the time, preparing for a deployment to Afghanistan.

The warrant says he told an agent he would one day work for the Defense Intelligence Agency, making him valuable over the course of his career.
