— TRAVEL: Major airlines scratched about 600 flights in the U.S. on Thursday, mostly in the New York area, although airports in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and elsewhere are affected. The extensive Long Island Rail Road suspended service overnight but was back in service for the morning commute.
