A 92-year-old World War II veteran in California scared off an ax-wielding burglar Sunday morning when he fired a single shot from his pistol.
“I could have shot him right in the head between the eyes,” Joe Milspa, a San Jacinto resident, told CBS LA. San Jacinto is between Los Angeles and Palm Springs. “But I didn’t want to do that. I would have been in trouble.”
The report said that the burglar used an ax to gain entry, breaking through a window and crawling in.
The gunshot did not hit the suspect, who ran off leaving behind the ax and other items, according to the report.
