Chicago police say they believe the two people who were shot and killed during a memorial for a man fatally shot earlier that day were all members of the same street gang and were likely killed by a rival gang.

Police department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Monday that the man killed early Sunday and the man and woman killed later in the day all appear on a police list of people most likely to be either victims of or suspects in gun violence because of factors including criminal records and gang ties. He says at least two of the eight people also injured in the second shooting are on the same list.

Guglielmi also says both shootings involved high-powered military-style weapons.

He says no arrests have been made.
