DEVELOPING: One person was killed and at least 10 injured in an explosion Tuesday at an industrial complex in suburban Chicago.

Emergency officials in Arlington Heights, Ill., responded to reports of an explosion inside a manufacturer called Arens Controls, Fox News confirms. An Arlington Heights Fire Department official said the explosion involved a machine.

One person was killed in the incident while at least 10 people were taken to nearby Northwest Community Hospital for treatment.

Signs outside the affected building indicated that Motorola, Honeywell and a Home Depot training college are also housed there.

A woman who lives two blocks from the facility told the Chicago Tribune she heard a large explosion at around 8:30 a.m. local time.
