There are plenty of odd-ball themed cruises out there. Pretty much any thing you can think, there has been a cruise, from vampires to vino.
But theme cruises share a common trait: the chance for people to meet others who share their passion, be it crafts or celebrities or cultish obsessions.
Here is a selection of some of the out-of-the-ordinary themed cruises out there.
1. Duck Dynasty Cruise

Phil Robertson may have made a fortune selling duck calls in the swamps of Louisiana, but now the family is hitting the open seas in their first-ever cruise experience. Fans of A&E's popular “Duck Dynasty” can schedule a vacation with Willie, Jase, Phil, Uncle Si and the rest of the Robertson crew on the Duck Commander Cruise. Setting sail on the Carnival Victory, the ship will be departing from Miami and headed to the Caribbean , from July 17 to 21.
2. “Dancing with the Stars” Cruise

Fans of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" can kick it up with their favorite contestants and pros while taking in the sights. Holland America Line is offering a series of "Dancing With the Stars: At Sea" cruises through 2014 in which guests can participate in complementary dance classes, attend a production with performances by some of the show's famous dance professionals, such as Mark Ballas, Kym Johnson and Lacey Schwimmer and compete for a place in the Champions Cruise in January. Itineraries include the Caribbean, Alaska, Canada and New England.
3. Grammy’s Cruise

Love music? Why not set sail on the first Grammy's experience at sea onboard the Norwegian Getaway, still under construction. Set to launch in February 2014, the 4,000-passenger Getaway will be the largest ship to homeport year-round in Miami. These seven-day cruises from Miami to the Eastern Caribbean, will include ports of call at Philipsburg, St. Maarten; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Nassau, Bahamas. On board this music-themed cruise will be artifacts curated from the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles and live performances by past Grammy winners and nominees.
4. Knitting Cruise

What better way to ring in the New Year than with some aggressive knitting? The river cruise line AmaWaterways will offer its new Knitting New Year's Cruise on the Danube River from Dec. 27, 2014 Jan. 2, 2015. The inaugural cruise will let travelers stitch and pearl their way through forums on fashion trends and classes on new stitch patterns and techniques. It will also feature luxury yarns and talks by textile expert Barry Klein, owner of Trendsetter Yarns in Los Angeles.
5. Gladiators Cruise

Ever wanted to step in the footstep of the real-life version of Russell Crow in Ridley Scott's film "Gladiator." Here’s your chance. Crystal Cruises is expanding its 2014 Experiences of Discovery theme cruise program with six new themes, one of which is called Gladiators & Empires: Scheduled to set sail May 18 and travel from Venice to Barcelona, is all about learning about the Roman Empire and its influences on art, religion, law, war, social structure, science, and architecture. Don’t forget to bring your Roman sandals and bowl hair cut.
6. Movie Lovers Cruise

Popcorn-munching film lovers can catch classic flicks and hobnob with stars from movies of yore on the third TCM Classic Cruise. The five-night cruise will take place on the recently-refurbished 1,754-passenger Disney Magic, kicking off Dec. 8 in Miami. It'll include stops in Nassau, Bahamas and Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in the Bahamas. TCM hosts Robert Osborne and Ben Mankiewicz will lead the voyage, but the organizers haven’t yet announced which stars will be on board. Past years included appearances by Ernest Borgnine, Eva Marie Saint, Debbie Reynolds, Mickey Rooney, and Norman Lloyd.
