First Commercial Flight for Boeing 787 Set for October

TOKYO -- All Nippon Airways said Monday it expects its first Boeing 787 to arrive in September, and will debut the plane a month later with a flight between Tokyo and Hong Kong.

Boeing previously had said it expected the Japanese airline to receive the first 787 in August or September.

All Nippon is the launch customer for the 787, which is more than three years late after a succession of production and design delays. It previously had said the first 787 would be used on domestic routes.
