The new HTC One (M8) smart phone, available from all major carriers, is a subtle update to last year's One M7. The 1080p HD display has been stretched from 4.7 inches to 5 inches and the already loud front-facing amplified stereo speakers are now 25 percent louder, according to HTC.
New camera capabilities include the ability to focus on subjects within a few feet and subjects a bit farther away—a feature we've already seen on the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Nokia Lumia phones. Later you can decide which element you want to focus on, then share that version.

The HTC One's trademark unibody case is almost entirely made of metal (90 percent), and the front-facing camera offers 5 megapixels of resolution to ensure your selfies are the best they can be. The beefy 2600 mAh battery promises more than a day of talk time
The HTC One (M8) is available at Verizon stores today for $200 with a two-year contract and can be preordered at AT&T and Sprint for $200 with a two-year service agreement. T-Mobile has not yet mentioned a price, but promises its offering will be of the "no-money-down" variety.
Look for my review of HTC's flagship smart phone within the next few days.
