A 350-acre wildfire led to the evacuation of about 100 people in the Central Oregon subdivision of Crooked River Ranch.

Officials told displaced residents they would have to wait until Friday afternoon to return home. Full containment of the Crooked fire was expected by Friday night.

The fire started at about 2 p.m. Thursday, and a dark plume soon formed above the resort community north of Bend. There were no reports of injuries or burned houses.

The fire's cause is under investigation. However, there were reports that a resident was burning debris, and it got out of control, said Traci Cooper, fire marshal for Redmond Fire & Rescue.
