The campus of Upper Iowa University is in lockdown after reports of a gunshot on campus.

Spokeswoman Pam Reinig says an employee reported hearing a single shot on the campus of the northeastern Iowa school around 11 a.m. Friday.

Reinig says the report has not been confirmed, but officials have locked down the campus for the safety of students.

She says no one has been injured.

Upper Iowa is a private school in Fayette with 6,000 students.
