Dear Viewers,

I don't know about you, but our staff was up almost all night and, at last check, several states still were not "called."

So now we quickly have to regroup and decide what to do tonight for our show. Obviously the election will be front and center — at least until one party has conceded. We also juggle the Scott Peterson (search) case since the jury could have the case today.  We have dispatched staff to Ohio, and California in anticipation of both stories.

We will probably know what we will be doing — meaning how much election for instance — around 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. EST.  We know the topics for tonight; just not how much time will be devoted. This IS live TV and the news is a very dynamic topic — always changing.

By the way, for some "color," I should tell you that I have never seen so much junk food (search) as I saw on our set last night.  We had candy, cake and once in a while something nutritious.  I am not sure why, but for some reason the staff kept bringing in food to us as though we were starving.

And, of course, Ken Gross, Judge Napolitano and I obliged by eating virtually anything put in front of us.  At one point I looked over and Judge Napolitano had on a plate sushi (search) and a hot dog — which was a weird combination.  At the end of the night (which was 3 or 4 in the morning), I thought they might need to call in a forklift to get us off the set since we had eaten so much.
