U.S. Working to Free Journalist Taken Hostage
He was in Pakistan covering the war on terror. Now, he's become part of that story.
Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, 38, has apparently been taken hostage by a group that calls itself The National Movement for the Restoration of Pakistani Sovereignty.
U.S. officials have been in contact with authorities in Pakistan about Pearl's disappearance and will "give whatever help can be given" to obtain his release, White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said.
