Interest groups aligned for and against Judge John Roberts' (search) nomination to be Supreme Court justice are out in force, filling the sound vacuum left by congressional recess and the president's August vacation. Correspondent Jim Angle reports on their strategies for swaying the American public.
Then, Colombian President Uribe comes to Crawford to meet with President Bush. Carl Cameron has the details from their meeting.
Also, Usama bin Laden's lieutenant, Aymen al-Zawahiri (search) warned the United States that Al Qaeda will continue to attack the United States until U.S. troops pull out of all Muslim countries, and he warned Britons that more destruction is in store for them, too. Mike Emanuel reports from the Pentagon.
And newly sworn-in United Nations Ambassador John Bolton was welcomed by the other member states to the U.N. today in New York. In his statement before the U.N., Bolton called on all members, especially Iran and Syria, to "meet their obligations to stop the flow of terrorist financing and weapons." FOX's James Rosen has more on this story.
NARAL, in Seattle sponsored a “Screw Abstinence Party” and campaign to encourage abandoning "abstinence only" sex education in schools. The event featured music, booze, appetizers and a sex toy vendor. Dan Springer has a report.
