The news that is not White House approved...

Dem. vs. Dem.

A civil war is being waged in the Democratic Party. The ultra left-wing group MoveOn.org has announced that it will begin targeting Democrats who oppose health care reform.

According to The Washington Post, a $500,000 ad campaign against certain Blue Dogs was launched on Monday. And the money will not dry up after that. The group also plans to help bankroll primary challenges against senators who side with the GOP on the issue of health care.

Now wait a minute, I thought the mainstream media said it was Republicans who no longer had the big tent party?

I guess the media is wrong.

Here We Go Again…

Another day another Obama nominee with a troubling record. What else is new?

This time it is the president's nominee to head the Transportation Security Administration Erroll Southers. The Washington Post reports that in 1988, Southers was censured by the FBI for asking law enforcement officials to conduct a background check on his ex-wife's boyfriend.

According to The Post, Southers has admitted to this misconduct. He says he hasn't done anything similar since and he has promised not to misuse government data bases again in the future.

Well, that's comforting. Given how much the Democrats worried about invasions of privacy during the Bush era, Mr. Southers is certainly a surprising choice.

Reform, Dodd Style

Tuesday was a big day for Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd. Countrywide's favorite senator unveiled a 1,136-page financial reform bill.

Yes, you heard me right: Angelo Mozilo's best friend and the lucky recipient of sweetheart mortgage deals has now taken it upon himself to reform and regulate the financial industry.

SEN. CHRISTOPHER DODD, D-CONN.: It is the job of this Congress to restore responsibility and accountability in our financial system and to give Americans confidence that there is a system in place that works for and protects them. This proposal would create a new architecture to make our financial institutions more transparent, more responsible and more accountable to the American people.

More transparent? I know that's what you're all about, Senator, I guess that's why it only took you a year to release those Countrywide documents for those sweetheart deals you had.

Leaker in Chief

Barack Obama promised a clean campaign while running for president, but one dirty secret has now been exposed that reveals a very different story behind the scenes.

It turns out that it was Obama's staff who leaked information about John Edwards' $400 haircuts. The news of Edwards and his high-priced hairdo helped revealed just how out of touch he was with average Americans. According to Politico's Ben Smith, the man behind the leak was former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe.

Well, after everything that we know about John Edwards — like cheating on your wife and allegedly having a baby with a mistress — this is not exactly Watergate.
