Florida hospital officials say a boy who was bitten by a shark in the Bahamas is in good condition.

The 14-year-old's family chartered a plane and rushed him to West Palm Beach for treatment after he suffered serious injuries from the shark bite last week.

Officials say he remained hospitalized Monday and is recovering.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman Capt. Don DeLucia says the boy, whose identity has not been released, was bitten while swimming in the Bahamas on Friday.

Officials have not said on what island the boy was swimming or what type of shark bit him.
