Taylor Swift Done With Kanye VMA Incident

Taylor Swift didn’t move a muscle as the lights went out following Kanye West’s impromptu speech during the VMAs on Sunday night, but backstage it was a totally different story.

We’re told the country crooner immediately burst into tears and was hysterically crying while her family and production staff rallied around, with everyone still in shock over the outburst and wondering what to do next. With just a few minutes until she was scheduled to perform, Swift was given lots of hugs and encouragement as she pulled herself together to sing her heart out. Another source said that MTV peeps were more worried about how they would play "cover-ups" than Miss Swift.

But nonetheless, the sweet starlet didn't go too deep into the drama on "The View" on Monday.

"I think my overall thought process went something like, 'Wow, I can't believe I won. This is awesome. Don't trip and fall. I'm going to get to thank the fans. This is so cool. Oh, Kanye West is here. Cool haircut. What are you doing there? And then ouch. And then, I guess I'm not going to thank the fans,'" she said.

MTV executives were reportedly upset that West not only belittled Swift but he also undermined the integrity of the awards and who should win (as determined by public votes). It was one of the head-honcho producers (who is actually good friends with West) that had him removed from the venue.

So while everyone is still buzzing over the beef, Swift herself is apparently over it.

"Taylor doesn’t want to talk about it anymore," said a source. "She’s was a bit overwhelmed by all the attention and trying to move past it."

A rep for Swift also told Tarts that "Kanye called and Taylor is fine now, but they are done talking about it."

While the experience was obviously difficult for the 19-year-old, it may very well work in her favor and boost her public profile.

"This will help Taylor's career because she didn’t play victim but treated the situation like a real pro and said little, which impressed a lot of folks," said Hollywood image consultant Michael Sands. "Kanye's behavior is out of control and this will hurt his status and ability to attract new converts. It wasn’t about Beyonce, it was about his need to receive adulation from his peer group."

And you never know, perhaps Mr. West may very well find himself mentioned in one of Swift’s upcoming tracks.

"If you break my heart, hurt my feelings or mess with friends I’ll have to write a song about you," Swift told us earlier this year.

Lionel Richie Credits Joel Madden and 'Mouse One and Two' for Nicole's Addiction Recovery, Doesn’t Even Know What 'Sparrow' Means

Nicole Richie is no stranger to dangerously bad behavior in the past having been caught with heroin, driving with a suspended license and being sentenced to jail time stemming from a DUI in 2006. But according to daddy Lionel Richie, the mama (who just gave birth to her second child, son Sparrow, last week) is in such good health mentally and physically these days thanks to her beau and babies.

"I'm just very proud of Joel (Madden) and of Nicole. One thing I love about Nicole is when she makes her mind up to do something, it's done. When Joel came along she found that one person, that partner that she needed to kind of get her into that mode of taking care of herself and paying attention to her lifestyle," Lionel Richie told us before being honored at the 31st edition of An Evening of Stars. "And then of course when Mouse number one and Mouse number two came along that was it, and I can tell you right now she is a different person."

And even the grandpa doesn't know where on earth Richie and Madden came up with the name "Sparrow" for their son.

"I have no idea where that came from. I will ask her, it is very interesting. With the excitement of the baby, you don’t go into the name just yet. When I heard it, I thought it was my job just to go ‘absolutely’," Lionel added. "I will ask about Sparrow and she will have a story."
