Tara Reid and Kelly Bensimon Could Be Vying for December Playboy Cover

LOS ANGELES – Tara Reid has been out of the spotlight for quite some time now, but the "American Pie" starlet now looks poised to make quite the comeback in the very near future.

Reid stripped down (apparently ALL THE WAY down) last week in a shoot for Playboy magazine’s December issue. The 33-year-old got a very bad lipo job five years ago, and has since suffered with body image issues.

"She is really shy about getting the Playboy gig," said a pal. "She’s scared to talk about it because of what people and the press might say. But she’s doing so well, she looks amazing."

Mind you, Reid did tell us earlier this year that she’s never even been to a nude beach and was definitely "not planning on it."

"I only wear bikinis, I love bikinis. I don’t get too scandalous, string bikini’s only! No thongs or anything like that," she said. (Hmmm, could a healthy paycheck changed her mind about baring her bod?)

However, word on the street is that "Real Housewives of New York" beauty Kelly Bensimon may also be flashing some flesh in the mag’s December issue, otherwise known as the annual "Celebrity" issue which in the past has featured Hollywood hotties like Kim Kardashian and Cindy Margolis.

So will there be a "real" fight between the two beauties for the coveted cover girl position?

A rep from Playboy declined to comment.

EXCLUSIVE: Shayne Lamas Defends Dad Lorenzo Lama’s 'Womanizing' Ways

If you the thought the Kardashian family was dramatic enough, it’s time to meet 80’s soap star/pin-up Lorenzo Lamas’ brood.

Reality television just got more delicious with the debut of "Leave it to Lamas" which hit the E! airwaves on Sunday night. Just think, Lorenzo divorced his fourth wife, Playboy playmate Shauna Sand, in 2002 over an alleged affair with his 18-year-old son AJ (who no longer speaks to his dad) and 23-year-old daughter Shayne is still making sneaky attempts to get them to talk, so there is bound to be some sad drama in this new series.

But its Lorenzo’s rep as a womanizer (he’s been married four times, engaged another time, has seven kids to three different moms and has recently been romantically linked to Hunter Tylo and Debbie Gibson) that his 23-year-old daughter Shayne believes will get the biggest shake up on the show.

"That (womanizer) rep will be shattered because he's not the way people think he is," she told Pop Tarts at the recent Operation Smile Gala in Beverly Hills. "He is a loving, caring, monotone, centered man. But you're going to see the Lamas loving their lives in Hollywood and everything it entails. Sisterly relationships, brother and sister relationships, mom and dad fighting, a lot of drama."

The aspiring actress also hopes the show will also debunk the misconception that she is nothing more than a "blonde bobblehead." But this isn’t Shayne’s first brush with fifteen minutes, she also won the 12th season of "The Bachelor" but later broke off the engagement to fiancé/the show's star Matt Grant.

"I have no regrets about the show, I learned a lot about myself and the entertainment business and how not to be naive in certain situations and when to hold your guard up," she assured us.

But back to her former step mama Sand-Lamas: the uber-blonde is attempting to stop Vivid Entertainment from releasing a "hard core" sex tape entitled "Shauna Sand Exposed" starring her and her new French boyfriend. However, the adult film company’s rep said they are "comfortable" with their legal position in putting the footage out this Monday and have already distributed a teaser trailer.

"Shauna is every guy's fantasy of what a California blonde should be, with her 33DD/22/33 figure, stunning blue eyes, pouty lips and long blonde hair," Vivid founder Steven Hirsch told us in a statement on Monday. " The scenes are of an incredible high def quality, which makes it the hottest celebrity sex footage I've ever seen. Shauna was obviously having fun and loving what she was doing on camera and she is bursting with sex appeal."

Sand-Lamas declined to comment.

Fading Frame With Fame: Where Did Whitney Port Go?

Whitney Port is still as gorgeous and grounded as ever (and ratings for "The City" are up 43 percent according to Nielsen), however it seems her absorption into the New York fashion world has left the starlet looking as tiny as ever before.

The MTV narrator spent last weekend meeting and greeting fans while launching premium denim line DL 1961at Nordstrom South Coast Plaza, and the custom comfort skinny jeans certainly made her look extra uber lean.

"She never used to be that thin," an inside source told Tarts. "It seems to happen to all these girls when they hit their second season."

So is Port transitioning from designer to model? Not quite.

"It has been really challenging starting a clothing line in this economy, the last thing that people want to spend their money on is clothing," Port (who is concentrating on her own line "Whitney Eve") told Tarts. "It has definitely been challenging but I think that my passion for it will out ride the hardships."

And even though the 24-year-old gets constant props for her good looks, she’s her own worst critic.

"It’s always difficult to watch and analyze yourself on television," Port added.
