A 66-year-old woman died after being struck on the head by a golf ball hit by her playing partner last week.
Janet Llewellyn was playing a round of golf with a friend at Strathendrick Golf Club in Stirlingshire in Scotland on Oct. 1 when the freak accident happened.
She was on the third tee when she was somehow struck by her playing partner's tee shot.
The charity volunteer from Balloch collapsed moments after being hit in the back of the head.
Green keeping staff carried her off the course in a cart but she lost consciousness on the way.
She was then flown to Glasgow's Southern General Hospital but died the next day.
Friends and colleagues have since paid tribute to the mother-of-two.
Cathy McGroarty, 79, who worked with her at a charity shop said: "I can't believe shepassed away in such circumstances. It is a total freak accident.
"She was very good at work. She was always so active and full of life and a very nice person to know."
Llewellyn had been a memeber of the Strathendrick course, which lies in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, for two years.
The course was closed over the weekend.
A note on the gates read: "As a mark of respect to Janet Llewellyn, who tragically died on Friday following an accident on the course on Thursday, the course will be closed until Monday, October 5."
