JAMUL, Calif. – A San Diego County wildfire has spread toward homes and authorities are working to evacuate properties.
California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection spokeswoman Roxanne Provaznik says the fire is up to 60 acres in the Willow Glen area, near Jamul.
Provaznik says the fire is spreading at a moderate rate toward homes. About 300 firefighters are working the fire, which is being fanned by a mild west wind.
Jamul is a community of about 6,000 about 20 miles east of downtown San Diego.
Sheriff's officials say it's too early to estimate the number of people affected.
