If Jennifer Love Hewitt was getting skinny for her wedding, those 18 pounds she lost may have been all for naught.
The "Ghost Whisperer" star and fiancé Ross McCall have ended their 13-month engagement, according to People.com.
"They broke up over the holidays," a source close to the couple told the website. "They're both really sad about this. Even their friends are surprised."
In October, Hewitt said she had lost weight for her upcoming wedding, not because of the now-famous "pudgy beach pictures" she had defended earlier in the year.
"I'm getting ready to turn 30 and get married and all those things," Hewitt told People. "This year was my year to try to glow from within and feel better."
Love Hewitt 29, got engaged to McCall, 32, in November 2007.
Hewitt's rep had not returned Foxnews.com's request for comment.
