Prosecutors have rested their case in the kidnapping trial of the man who calls himself Clark Rockefeller.

The government called its final witnesses Tuesday, with the defense scheduled to begin its case on Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Rockefeller's real name is Christian Karl Gerhartsretier. He is accused of kidnapping his 7-year-old daughter during a supervised visit in Boston last July after losing custody of the girl to her mother, Sandra Boss.

Boss was aggressively cross-examined Tuesday by a defense attorney who pressed her on why she never tried to verify his claim that he was related to the famous Rockefeller family.

Prosecutors say the German-born man has used multiple aliases.
