LOS ANGELES – Rose McGowan managed to snag the then-married film director Robert Rodriguez while working with him for "Grindhouse," but it seems as though Rodriguez was captivated by the screen siren from the moment she first opened her mouth.
"I first saw Rose at Cannes Film Festival a while ago and she would brutally cut me down to size ... " Rodriguez recently recalled to Tarts. "She was really strong, very tough and had lots of attitude. People have not really seen her fiery attitude and personality, I found it arresting. She was quite a force."
The Tinseltown twosome are back working together as a director/actress force and are currently filming the she-devil comic "Red Sonja." Rodriguez hinted that his leading lady may even be immersed in real blood for the flick, but while he’s busy planning and plotting McGowan has been enduring daily three-hour workouts and sword-training to transform into the ultimate feisty femme fatale.
"From a really young age, I was into female empowerment and supporting the underdog," Rose added. "Right now, I’m into female vengeance."

Lindsay Lohan's legs aren't bad and neither is her new leggings line, but what's even better is that the 22-year-old is using her bottom half to raise funds for charity.
Lohan hosted a special holiday collection fashion showcase for her line of leggings, 6126, to benefit the Women’s Cancer Research Institute at Cedar Sinai Medical Center on Friday. Lohan joined girlfriend Samantha Ronson in the DJ booth while she worked her two-hour set, dancing with excitement as her new single, "Bossy" hit the speakers.
Once Ronson's spinning duties were done with, the duo got lovey dovey together on a plush white-leather VIP bed before leaving hand-in-hand in the early hours.
Speaking of lovers in Las Vegas, Holly Madison and Criss Angel couldn't contain their affection while attending Paris Hilton's post-premiere party for her new horror "Repo! The Genetic Opera" at Planet Hollywood's Prive last week. We're told the "Mindfreak" illusionist and Hef's former flame started off with just casual kissing and cuddling but after "a few too many" adult beverages, they engaged in several racy make-out sessions and even opted to share a lollipop.
Other star-studded couples spotted in Sin City over the course of the weekend included Paris Hilton and beau Benji Madden (mind you, the "Good Charlotte" rocker didn't exactly come across as enthusiastic while hanging with Hilton at her film party) and singer Jewel and her bull-riding hubby Ty Murray who hosted Bull Riders Night at hotspot LAX on Saturday. (Oh, and perennial partiers Madison and Angel were there soaking up the spotlight yet again.)
Across the Strip at Prive, Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart were seen celebrating a friend's birthday. While most of their group got pretty wild dancing and drinking, apparently the screen stars laid low swaying to the music.
Josie Maran Still Hurting From DWTS Boot
Hollywood beauties Josie Maran and Amy Smart joined forces on Thursday to co-host the launch of eco-chic shoe line PURE by Rickard Shah at a private luncheon in Beverly Hills. But while model Maran was happily rocking eco-friendly clothes and her own eco-friendly makeup range, she wasn't so friendly toward her ex-employees, "Dancing With the Stars."
"I haven't watched it at all, I haven't seen an episode since I got booted off -- after that I was done with it," Maran told Tarts at the VeeV/Mercedes Benz-sponsored event.
The 30-year-old mama was the first contestant to be eliminated from the popular ABC series last year and it sounds as though the blow hit her pretty hard. But on the plus side, she said the intense training helped shed any lingering pregnancy pounds.
"Breast-feeding really helped my body too," Maran added.
As for Smart's stay-slim secret, it's all about balance.
"To look good you've got to sleep and workout and eat well," the actress advised. "But you also have to go out and have a night out with your friends and eat junk food if you feel like it, balance is what keeps you healthy."
Lost Lovers: 90210’s Adam Gregory & Jessica Lowndes Don’t Know How to Behave
Rumors have been running rampant for over a month now about a blossoming romance between "90210" stars Adam Gregory and Jessica Lowndes, but it seems as though the young, not-so-spotlight experienced couple are having trouble handling their personal lives in the public eye.
Gregory arrived solo at last Wednesday’s Post Election/Company 81 Launch Party at the swanky Fred Segal store in Santa Monica, but Lowndes came separately a little later. As she did her thing on the red-carpet Adam walked behind but made sure he kept his face to the wall to avoid being snapped with his supposed leading lady.
Inside a photographer approached the two (who were standing awkwardly apart) and they looked at each other hesitantly before Gregory finally said that he was "okay" with posing with his co-star. While waiting in the valet line to leave the young stars again acted like total strangers and discussed their evening plans in separate groups, however our spies caught Gregory and Lowndes getting cozy just an hour later over dinner at popular steakhouse, BOA.
On the other hand, it was refreshing to see Heather Graham do something a little anti-Hollywood and actually promote her new romance.
"Oh, I have a new film called "Hangover" coming out. But most importantly what's keeping me busy is I'm now dating this really cool and cute guy over here," she told Tarts at Thursday night's The British Academy of Film and Television Arts in LA Awards while beckoning her beaming beau to stand by her side. Aww.
