An Oklahoma City mother and her friend will stand trial on accusations that include beating and imprisoning the woman's teenage son and setting the boy on fire.

A judge on Wednesday ordered 37-year-old LaRhonda McCall and 39-year-old Steve Hamilton to stand trial on multiple counts of child abuse and neglect.

The judge earlier heard testimony from 15-year-old Bernell McCall. The teen showed the court his scarred wrists and said his mother and Hamilton would bind him and put him in a closet for "stealing" food from the family's kitchen.

The alleged abuse came to light Sept. 25 when Bernell McCall walked to an Oklahoma National Guard armory to get help.

LaRhonda McCall's attorney, Brian Young, says there are a number of inconsistencies in the boy's testimony and what he told police.
