Jennifer Love Hewitt has said "no thanks" to replacing Shannen Doherty on Charmed.

Sources say producers of the WB's sisters-as-witches series approached the ex-Party of Five/Time of Your Life star to replace Doherty, who left the Aaron Spelling show earlier this month supposedly because of a rocky relationship with co-star Alyssa Milano (Holly Marie Combs also stars in the series).

There's no word on why Hewitt would pass up the opportunity to headline an established show, although she has been pursuing a big-screen career and perhaps felt that Charmed fell into the "been there, done that" category.

Earlier this year, Hewitt starred opposite Sigourney Weaver in Breakers and she's also starring with Alec Baldwin in the upcoming The Devil and Daniel Webster.

Hewitt also headlined ABC's Audrey Hepburn miniseries last year and has a lucrative hair-care endorsement deal.

Notwithstanding finding Doherty's replacement, there could be additional trouble on the Charmed set.

Combs has reportedly asked for and received a big per-episode raise  and will now be making more than Milano, the show's erstwhile star.

More trouble is the last thing the WB needs after losing Buffy the Vampire Slayer to rival UPN, which is also adding a new Star Trek series starring Scott Bakula.
