A new NBC show is bound to attract attention for the title alone: "Without Breasts There Is No Paradise."

The network has agreed to produce a prime time English-language version of the telenovela with the same name. Telemundo, also owned by NBC Universal, will make a Spanish edition with a different cast and script.

The series is about a 17-year-old call girl who worries that her flat chest will consign her to a life of poverty.

The show broke ratings records in Colombia that had been previously set by "Betty La Fea," which became an English-language success when it was remade into "Ugly Betty" by ABC last fall. But "Sin Tetas" has also attracted protests from feminists and pro-family groups in a country where breast augmentation is big business.

"I scour the world for the best ideas and for the game-changing hit shows and `Sin Tetas' is one of those shows," said Ben Silverman, NBC chairman of entertainment.

The Colombian production company Canal Caracol let NBC Universal (a unit of General Electric Co.) acquire the rights.
