Chipping Away
There appears to be another chink in the armor of manmade global warming supporters as a top science journal has withdrawn a study on sea level rise tied to global warming, after finding mistakes that undermined the projections.
The study published last year in Nature Geoscience predicted sea levels would rise by between seven and 82 centimeters by the end of the century. That backed up the U.N.'s climate change group.
Now The Guardian reports the scientists involved in the study say there are two separate technical mistakes in their research that led them to realize, "we no longer have confidence in our projections."
In recent weeks the U.N. has been forced to acknowledge several other mistakes within its 2007 U.N. report.
Salacious Scoop
It's a headline many thought impossible, but The National Enquirer is in the running for a Pulitzer Prize for breaking the John Edwards scandal involving his mistress and love child.
Various reports say the tabloid will be allowed to compete for journalism's most prestigious award in two categories: investigative reporting and national news reporting. Winners will be announced in April.
Offensive Language
And finally, the BBC reports a woman trying to post a help wanted ad was told her request for "reliable and hard-working" applicants wasn't allowed because it could be discriminatory and offensive to unreliable people.
The same company, part of the British government's Department of Work and Pensions, also rejected a hair salon's advertisement for a "junior stylist" because it discriminated against older people even though the term "junior" refers to a level of qualification rather than age.
