Want to see where the pilgrims lived? Well you may want to head to … Pilmoth? The Massachusetts state highway department put up a misspelled sign to one of the state’s most visited towns this week, reading ‘Pilmoth Plantation,’ not ‘Plimoth,’ MyFOXBoston reports.

While the sign left drivers doing a double take, MyFOXBoston reports that the town name is actually spelled four different ways within a one mile radius, including two versions of the old English spelling, as well as the ‘Pilmoth’ exit.

The state highway department claims that when the sign was shipped to them it was labeled for installation and no one noticed the misspelling before it went up.

MyFOXBoston reports highway crews were out fixing the sign this week after the error was reported.
