A Missouri man has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for hitting a member of a construction crew with his car last year.

Ryan Seeler, 34, of O'Fallon, was convicted Monday night in the July 7, 2007 death of 22-year-old Gavin Donahue — who was hit while working on a construction crew along Highway 40 near Chesterfield.

Donahue, of St. Louis, was a civil engineering student at the Missouri University of Science and Technology working a summer job when he was struck.

Police say Seeler was intoxicated after attending a St. Louis Cardinals game when he hit Donahue.

The jury recommended a 7-year prison sentence for Seeler.

Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 9.
