Milla Jovovich Became a 'Crazy Alien' to Lose 70lbs

In 2004, Milla Jovovich topped Forbes Magazine's "Richest Supermodels of the World" list, but after putting on a whopping 70lbs while pregnant with her first child (she gave birth to a girl in November 2007) the stunner has had to sweat it out big-time to save her strutting career.

"Diet and lots of exercise, I worked my big, little butt off," Jovovich told Tarts at the recent Montblanc Signature for Good Gala at Hollywood’s Paramount Studios. "It’s been a lot of work and I’ve been working with Harley Pasternak and his 5-Factor program, they actually have diet food sent to my house. At one point I just ate oatmeal, salmon and artichokes everyday for a week. It was definitely a lot easier putting it on!"

But even despite the year-long ordeal of dropping those 70 pregnancy pounds, the Ukraine-born beauty isn’t turned off going through it again — at least for a while.

"I do want another baby but not for a little bit," Jovovich said. "I’ve only just lost all the weight so I want to enjoy my old body for a while before I have to become a crazy alien again."

Jovovich was one of the 12 honorees in attendance at the deluxe dinner and cocktail party, in which 12 unique portraits featuring Hollywood’s A-list ladies (Emily Blunt, Marcia Cross, Helen Hunt, Lauren Hutton, Jovovich, Jessica Lange, Eva Longoria, Andie MacDowell, Sienna Miller, Christina Ricci, Susan Sarandon and Mira Sorvino) were unveiled for the first time. The striking snaps will be auctioned during 2009 in support of UNICEF in its work addressing inadequate schooling and illiteracy across the globe.

Reese Witherspoon also used the greens of her star-status to do some good by announcing that she would donate $50,000 from her personal bank account to match Montblanc’s donation for the evening. Sienna Miller was also brought into the spotlight when Slumdog Millionaire star Anil Kapoor did a shout-out to his favorite actress — Serena Miller (thankfully the British babe wasn’t offended, she couldn’t stop laughing.)

Miller has no doubt come under media attack recently and has been labeled a "home-wrecker" by numerous publications, so it comes as no surprise that she specifically said "be nice to me" when we approached her for chat. But it really is way too difficult to dislike this 27-year-old — she’s a bundle of energy, charisma and is "so nervous but excited" to make her Broadway debut in After Miss Julie this Fall.

Mr. Chow's iconic Beverly Hills Restaurant was certainly a spicy place to be last Sunday for Leeza Gibbons' "Night to Make A Difference" Oscar Viewing & After Party which raised funds for the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation and Olivia Newton John’s Cancer and Wellness Center. So on the note of wellness, how do the Hollywood hotties stay in shape especially when indulging in Chow's most decadent Chinese dishes?

"I do a mixture of cardio and light weights using household items," Mel "Scary Spice" Brown told Tarts, adding that she and Victoria Beckham are still BFFs and "talk all the time."

So while Scary goes low-budget, music legend Olivia Newton-John's fitness is slightly more exotic.

"I walked the Great Wall of China, it kept me in shape, I did it to raise money for my hospital last year," the Grease glamour gal said.

Surprise performer Michael Buble told us that he just plays hockey, as the gym "isn't his style" (apparently he gets quite the workout chasing after dozens of girls daily, but Pop Tarts did overhear him saying he wasn't going to bother seeking out Paris Hilton's digits even after their extended conversation because "she has a boyfriend.")

Uber-tiny Teri Hatcher said she doesn't do any type of dieting (although we spotted her sneaking out early to get some healthier grub as she's apparently allergic to MSG) while rocker Slash said all he does to stay in shape is "wake up in the morning." (His wife then chimed in with the oh-so-interesting information that he loses weight "with drugs." Yikes.)

But it seems Muhammad Ali's ultra-athletic daughter Laila Ali goes to the toughest extreme.

"Sometimes I have to lose 10 lbs the week of a fight and it can be done, it's a lot of water weight, but it's taking water pills, getting in the sauna, not eating much, sweating it out, it's not healthy," she admitted.

But it also seems Ali stays well away from alcohol ... and television, too.

"Would I have a beer with Bill O'Reilly? I don't drink," she said. "But who is that?"

Jessica Biel also made a cameo at the star-studded party, but it seems her mama Kim Biel totally missed her big moment presenting at the Academy Awards.

"Mom was in the bathroom at the Kodak when I presented, she missed the whole thing," Biel told her dear friend and the party's host, Leeza Gibbons.

Benji Madden: Katy Perry Is 'Beautiful'

The rumor mill has been running rampant over recent weeks regarding a possible romance between Benji Madden and Katy Perry ever since they were spotted reportedly canoodling at Sin City hotspot "Wasted Space" at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. But according to the "Good Charlotte" rocker, Perry is just a very pretty pal.

"No, it's not true, we're friends. She's beautiful," Madden told Australia’s 2Day FM radio hosts Kyle & Jackie O on Tuesday morning. "When you're friends with someone, you don't want to ever compromise a friendship."

He’s also elated about becoming an uncle again as brother Joel just announced he and Nicole Richie are expecting, but he had some fast-talking to do when he dubbed them "hippies."

"People don't know this but they're kind of hippies," he said. "No, not in the sense of drugs, they're very responsible parents. The best parents I've ever seen." Awww.
