'Michigan ‘Miracle Baby’ Survives Tornado

A Michigan couple was thanking their lucky stars after finding that their 1-year-old baby survived a tornado that demolished their home.

The family was asleep early Friday morning when the storm hit. As the twister ripped through the house, reducing it to rubble, the baby’s crib was thrown 40 feet away from the home, the Flint Journal reported.

By the time firefighters arrived on the scene, a neighbor had found the baby in the overturned crib under a pile of debris about 40 feet from the home after hearing a faint whimper.

"Sometimes miracles happen," Millington Township firefighter Dan Detgen told The Flint Journal.
