Three prisoners, who officials described as armed and dangerous, escaped Wednesday from an Illinois prison.

The U.S. Marshals service didn't say how they escaped.

Rodney Brown, 35, was being held at the Tri-County Detention Center in Ullin on charges of possession of a weapon; Thomas Glaab, 28, was being held on charges of possession of methamphetamine and Miguel Robles-Moya was being held on immigration charges, according to the Marshals Service.

Brown is described as a black male and has black hair, brown eyes and weighs 165 pounds. Glaab has brown hair, brown eyes, weighs 180 pounds and is a white male. Robles-Moya is described as Hispanic with black hair, brown eyes and weights 180 pounds.

Brown and Glaab's last known addresses were both in Anna, Ill. and Robles-Moya's was in Chicago.

The Marshals Service is searching for the trio and warned that no members of the public should try to apprehend them.
