The latest weird and wacky news from around the world:

The Single Life

Ever thought an ex took your relationship a bit too seriously? A 24 year-old Ontario man took his relationship with his former girlfriend so seriously that he's now prohibited from engaging in an intimate relationship until the year 2010!

Steven Cranley attacked his suddenly-ex girlfriend during an argument after their breakup; and when she tried to phone police for help, he cut her phone cords, then punched and kicked her. The judge ruled Cranley would have to remain single for the next three years so he can work through his dependent personality disorder.

Doggie da Vincis

Most people believe that their animals are smarter and more talented than the rest. Mary Stadelbacher felt the dogs she trains at her business, Shore Service Dogs, were so special that she could teach them how to paint! And, surprisingly enough, they learned! Dubbed the "Doggie da Vincis," the three dogs have already painted a collection of abstract paintings, twenty of which will be displayed this month at Salisbury University.

Sandy Waller of Salisbury bought one of the canine's paintings for a whopping $350. Waller said about the pup-paintings, "There are people who make a lot of money to make paintings that aren't as intriguing as what these dogs have done."

From the Stupid Criminal File…

A Denver thief is lucky to be alive after attempting to conceal his identity with a plastic bag. Yes, that's right, a plastic bag. The still-unidentified man tried unsuccessfully to rob a Loaf 'N Jug convenience store wearing a white t-shirt and blue shorts, and apparently, he thought the bag would add a nice touch to the outfit.

"It's the first time I've ever seen someone use a plastic bag. People can suffocate that way," said bureau chief Bruce Williamson.
