A 13-year-old boy was arrested for taking 32 cents from a Jeep at a parking lot, Alexandria police reported Thursday.

A security guard called police to the parking lot Wednesday, saying he had taken a boy into custody for burglary, police said. The guard told police officer he had read the boy his rights, and the boy had admitted the incident.

After police read the juvenile his rights, he told them the same thing, according to the police report.

It said the change was returned to the Jeep's owner, who told police she had left the rear window unlocked.
