LONDON – London's tourist landmarks form the centerpiece of the capital's 2012 Olympic Games bid.
Under the plans there will be triathlon and road cycling in Hyde Park (search), beach volleyball in Horse Guards Parade and baseball and softball in Regent's Park.
The Millennium Dome (search) would be used for artistic gymnastics, trampolining, basketball and handball finals.
Greenwich Park (search) would host the equestrian, modern pentathlon riding and running events.
A proposed Olympic Park in lower Lea Valley would house a state-of-the-art 80,000-seat stadium for athletics and the opening and closing ceremonies.
The Park will also feature an aquatic center, Olympic village with 17,320 beds, hockey stadium and a multi-sport complex for basketball, handball, volleyball and modern pentathlon events.
After the games the village will be converted into 3,600 apartments, a life-long learning center which will include schools, and a creative industries center.
The arenas and swimming pools will be deconstructed and relocated to other parts of the UK, and sports equipment will be donated to charities.
The new Wembley Stadium would host both men's and women's football finals.
Earlier games would be played at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, Glasgow's Hampden Park and Windsor Park in Belfast.
Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium, St James' Park and Villa Park would also be used.
Wimbledon would host the tennis and Lord's could swap bats for bows to host the archery events.
Fencing would be held at Alexandra Palace, while Eton College Rowing Centre at Dorney Lake would host rowing and flatwater canoeing.
