Indiana Police Fish Missing Student's Vehicle From River
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Police say a car removed from the Wabash River belonged to an Indiana State University student who vanished more than five years ago.
Twenty-year-old Scott Javins was last seen about 2:30 a.m. May 24th, 2002 in Terre Haute leaving a friend's home in a silver Honda Civic.
A hatchback vehicle matching that description was found submerged in the Wabash River near Fairbanks Park in Terre Haute.
Vigo County Sheriff Jon Marvel says police identified the car as Javins' using a VIN number.
Police took the vehicle to a bay at the Vigo County Jail after a crane lifted it out of the river.
