NEW YORK – The movie executives behind American Pie 2 were rated the most powerful people in entertainment, according to an annual ranking that Entertainment Weekly magazine compiled.
Ron Meyer, president of Universal Studios, and Stacey Snider, chairman of Universal Pictures, were cited for a track record of 10 pictures that each earned more than $100 million domestically since 1999.
"One year of record-breaking box office totals could be written off to luck," Entertainment Weekly said. "Two years in a row might be coincidence. But now that Universal seems poised to make it three ... we've run out of excuses."
