British officials say former hostage Peter Moore has arrived safely back in Britain after his long captivity in Iraq.

The Foreign Office says Moore will spend about a week being debriefed at a British military base now that he is out of Iraq.

Officials said Friday he and his family will not give interviews about his experiences.

Details about Moore's return flight were kept secret because the Briton and his family want privacy. Moore is said to be in good health despite being held since he was kidnapped in Baghdad in May 2007. He was freed in Baghdad two days ago.

Three of his bodyguards were killed during the kidnapping, and a fourth is believed to be dead.
