MIAMI – NOAA's MAY 2005 HURRICANE SEASON FORECAST

NOAA's prediction for the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season in May 2005 was:

12 to 15 tropical storms

7 to 9 becoming hurricanes

3 to 5 could become major hurricanes

2005 HURRICANE SEASON - RESULTS

The 2005 hurricane season included:

27 named storms

14 hurricanes

7 were major hurricanes (Category 3 or higher).
