Florida Man Arrested on Charges of Threatening Wife With Voodoo, Gun

Police say a man has been arrested in Port St. Lucie for allegedly punching his wife and saying he was going to kill her and her children with a gun and voodoo.

Police spokesman Robert Vega says 34-year-old Nerlet Bellot was arrested on charges of domestic battery, hindering communication with law enforcement and domestic assault.

Bellot is accused of punching his wife in the stomach and her head. Vega says the wife also believes in voodoo and feels her husband can put a curse on her family.

Officials say he was released from St. Lucie County jail Tuesday on $45,000 bond.

Their home telephone listing was no longer in service.
