GRETA VAN SUSTEREN: Authorities say they have a suspect in the fatal shooting of a pre-school teacher in Georgia. The suspect, Jennifer Corbin's husband, Dr. Barton Corbin, has yet to submit to questioning. The couple have two very young sons, one of whom may have led investigators to his father.

Joining us from Atlanta Lateef Mungin of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, who attended Jennifer's funeral earlier today. Lateef, what can you tell me about this murder? When did it occur?

LATEEF MUNGIN, ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION: It occurred on December 4. Jennifer Corbin was found in her bed, one gunshot wound to her head. The revolver was found right next to her. She was actually found by her 7-year-old son, who ran next door to neighbors screaming, My daddy shot my mommy.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right. Now, the father is a dentist in the area. They were in the process of separating, a divorce, right?

MUNGIN: Yes, they are. The father, Dr. Barton Corbin, he's a dentist in the area, and he had filed for divorce on November 29.

VAN SUSTEREN: Did the young boy actually see the murder of his mother?

MUNGIN: According to the police investigators, the young boy was interviewed by a specialist who deals with children, and the young boy did not see the shooting, but just assumed that his father had killed his mother because of some issues that had happened earlier.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right. Big assumption because the father is not under arrest tonight, is that right?

MUNGIN: The father is not under arrest but the district attorney just announced today that the father is a suspect.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right and now there's sort of an interesting history, and I say interesting lightly. There was the father when he was in dental school knew another woman who died similarly, right?

MUNGIN: Yes, about 14 years ago, 1990, a girlfriend of Barton Corbin when he was in dental school, ended up dead in the same circumstances. She was found on her couch, a revolver by her body, a gunshot wound to her head and police in that area could not determine if it was a suicide or a homicide but they called Barton Corbin, not a suspect, but they called him a person of interest in that case.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right but he was never charged and that was never formally declared a homicide.

MUNGIN: That's right.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right. Is there an arrest warrant for Barton Corbin, or is he simply someone the police still want to talk to?

MUNGIN: There has not been an arrest warrant at this time. Authorities still want Barton Corbin to come in and talk to police. Barton Corbin has retained two attorneys and they say that they're doing their own investigation and will give their results to the police.

VAN SUSTEREN: Do you know if he submitted to any tests, for instance, even a gun residue test on his hands?

MUNGIN: Oh, I'm sorry, say that again.

VAN SUSTEREN: Do you know if they asked him to submit to a gun residue test to his hands shortly after the body was found or anything like that, that might help?

MUNGIN: Yes. They did ask him to submit to a gun residue test and he did and the test results are pending.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right, Lateef, thank you very much, appreciate it.

MUNGIN: You're welcome.
