A custodian at an elementary school has been booked with raping two 10-year-old boys at the school, Slidell Police said Monday.

Dino Jay Schwertz, 41, of Slidell, was arrested Saturday after an investigation into what officials first suspected was a bullying incident at the school. Schwertz was booked with six counts of aggravated rape, police said during a news conference.

The investigation began after one boy's mother complained to both the Slidell Police Department and to school officials that her son had been assaulted by another 10-year-old student. After interviewing the victim, authorities determined Schwertz, a school custodian at the time, had sexually assaulted him, police said Monday.

During the investigation, detectives also learned that the other boy involved in the bullying incident allegedly had been sexually assaulted by Schwertz as well, police said.
