Dangerously Fading Away? Tori Spelling Steps Out Looking Scarily Skinny
Just over nine months after giving birth to her second child, Tori Spelling has certainly shed those pregnancy pounds — plus much more. Since the beginning of February, the 35-year-old has lost an estimated 40 lbs and caused quite a few whispers given her (very) boney body beneath her flowing summer dress at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice on Saturday.
Despite her perky persona when out in public, Spelling’s rapid weight loss is apparently due in large part to the stress of her estranged relationship with mother Candy. Last year the "90210" starlet released a tell-all book about her famous family’s secrets and now her mother has bitten back and divulged even more in "Candyland," which hit bookstores last month.

"I took so much crap for so long; I needed to get the truth out there so I was brutally honest," Tori recently told Tarts regarding her controversial publication. "But I don't really know what this will do to my relationship with my mother. It’s a grey area we don’t talk about — but it’s been a very complicated 34 years. People still perceive me as this little rich girl which isn't the case, but they prefer that conception no matter what I say."
According to a source close to Spelling, she hasn’t enlisted any crazy diets or weight loss schemes but is running and diligently watching everything she eats — but her fragile frame still has friends a little concerned. In February Spelling told Us Weekly that she does feel the "pressure" to be thin in Tinseltown and found that losing the lard was much easier after the second pregnancy.
A rep for Spelling did not respond for comment.
"Tori Spelling has always been petite, so she may be healthy at this small size, but might consider adding some strength training to her fitness regime to add extra definition," celebrity trainer and Exhale Spa’s Core Fusion expert teacher Elise Gulan (who does not work with Spelling) told Tarts. "Hollywood is obsessed with being thin. The industry can often put pressure on female actresses to be a size zero, when we should be embracing healthy, womanly curves rather than fighting against them."
The very pregnant "Life" starlet Sarah Shahi was simply glowing at TV Guide’s Sexiest Stars soiree last week but she gave us just a little too much information…
"I feel the sexiest I have ever felt in my life. I feel like the earth is opening up, I always thought when people talked about pregnancy being like that it was total BS. But now my husband (actor Steve Howey) and I have great sex, then I want a slice of pizza," she said at the party, adding that she isn’t going to be like the majority of Hollywood stars and pop those pregnancy pounds straight away because her hubby "wouldn’t want that."
And it looks like George Lopez wants to help "retired" actor Joaquin Phoenix hold onto his not-yet-successful musical career. In the wake of news that he’s scored his own late night talk show on TBS, Lopez told Tarts that he wants to pick up where David Letterman recently left off and give Phoenix a shot on the show.
"I want my guests to be themselves; if they’re not funny I’ll get rid of them. I only book funny people," Lopez added. "Mario Lopez is not funny; people with those kind of muscles don’t belong on my show." Ouch.
We also spotted Ryan Eggold at the bash (with wet hair, did he come straight from the gym?!) and it seems he might be "crossing over". The "90210" star told Tarts that he’s currently in talks with the producers of "Melrose Place" to possibly cross his character over into the upcoming reincarnation of Aaron Spelling’s drama.

Rumors have been running rampant that Britney Spears is shopping around a tell-all book — but could "Rolling Stone" writer and the world’s number one pick-up artist of "The Game" fame, Neil Strauss, be the man who pens her plethora of problems?
In Strauss’s latest book "Emergency" (in which he offers life-saving tips including how to get through natural disasters to how to fly a plane and protect yourself in a terrorist attack) he also opens up about meeting Britney Spears and how she invited him into her Malibu home in 2006 and asked with "touching naivete" if they could go surfing together — while she was five months pregnant with second son, Jayden James. Hmmm.
"Now she wanted me to write her life story," wrote Strauss, adding that the songstress wanted it to be like Goldie Hawn’s "A Lotus Grows in the Mud" and had already taken notes of what she wanted to include in it.
"Cheating on Justin Timberlake, about resenting her parents’ control, about sexually acting out," he wrote. "Her manager, her agent, and her lawyer were all fighting for control of her … She started calling me, but for some reason they took away her phone and it became impossible to get in touch with her." Goodness, and this was before the conservatorship was put into place!
Strauss also told Tarts that he "wiped out" Tom Cruise’s expensive 955cc Triumph motorcycle (and thus provides advice on how to actually ride a bike) and despite the $10,000 + down-the-drain, the mega movie-star "didn’t seem to mind." Surprise, surprise.
